Researching your family history is a time consuming business, it's rewarding, that's why I enjoy doing it, but often it's hard to find the time. That's where Newsoft Genealogy comes in.

Here are some questions you might have. Q. I already know something about my family. Can I help? A. Yes of course in fact it’s essential, the first person I will want to talk to, is you. I will let you know just how you can contribute to the task. Q. Will you want to talk to my relatives? A. That’s entirely up to you, if you don’t want Newsoft Genealogy to have direct contact, then We will give you a list of questions that you can ask. Q. How will you do this, will any certificates be needed? A. There is only a limited amount of information that can be obtained on line or at local Information centres, so yes it might be necessary to obtain Birth, Marriage and Death certificates to get a full picture. Q. How much will it cost? A. That depends on exactly how deeply you want to go. Normally we will ask you to provide a retainer, and then we charge a rate of £25 per hour, this will include any travelling time (its often necessary to travel to other areas to get the records or information we will need).
There will be an addition charge for any Official documents that are obtained. Q. Can you guarantee to be able to produce a full family tree? A. Unfortunately nothing in realm of genealogical research is guaranteed, its particularly difficult to get back beyond the period of the English Civil war, when many church records were destroyed. In fact many of the claims made that we are descended from John of Gaunt for example, are simply not true. We won’t tell you lie’s to make it sound impressive. Q. Some of the online Professional Genealogist I see have a qualification you don’t, why is this? A. To be honest, it’s possible to buy just about any qualification you want these days, Genealogy used to be my hobby I do it because I enjoy it, that’s why the results I give you will be honest, and done in a friendly one to one manner.
